Hi Fierce One,

Do you engage in daily battles with yourself?

Do you ever attempt to negotiate (with yourself) about commitments you’ve made or things you promised yourself you’d do?

Example: Last Saturday I told myself I’d go for a run. But when it came time to actually do it, my brain piped up with all sorts of excuses about why I shouldn’t go.

I don’t feel like it.

I didn’t get much sleep last night.

I work out plenty as it is.

All true. But I’d given myself MY WORD that I’d go for a run. And so I went.

I call this concept “No Matter What.”  It’s a deeply influential practice of honouring your commitments to yourself….no matter what.

The irony is that the more successful you become, the easier it is to get so caught up in your commitments to other people that you fail to honour the commitments you make to yourself.

And when you failure to honour the commitments you make to yourself, you give your power away.

If you find yourself dishonouring the commitments you make to yourself regularly, take a deep breath and know that it’s OK. No Matter What thinking is a skill that we learn and practice.

It’s a skill we’ll be studying in depth at my upcoming workshop, Power + Presence + Position.

(BTW – Tickets for this event are extremely limited and we have only 19 super early bird seats available. I encourage you to reserve your spot now before those tickets are sold out).

No Matter What Thinking forces us to deeply consider our intentions and commitments. And in practicing this skill, you strengthen the most important source of your power as a leader: the ability to trust yourself.

This weekend, I encourage you to make a small commitment to YOU (not to someone else!) and to honour it No Matter What.

Stay fierce,

Eleanor

PS. I landed a column with Inc and my first article (on Meghan Markle!) was published this week. Check it out here.
