When it’s 4am and I can’t sleep, I write to you.
Several years ago, a highly successful fashion designer friend told me that one of the keys to her remarkable productivity was to "go with it."
"If it's 3 am and I have an idea, I won't toss and turn in bed. I'll get up, put on my dressing gown and get to work."
The night waking happens to me, especially after a big, honking, successful initiative like we put on for you last week. The energy and brilliance of all those fabulous women inspires me, motivates me, jacks me up...which is why it's 4 a.m. and I'm in my studio, drinking hot tea and writing you this missive.
(Interesting note: as you read this, I am at Disney World with my family. This will be interesting. I love people but dislike crowds. Truly, truly dislike crowds. I am mentally preparing myself for the experience. Ladies, I'm taking this one for "the team", i.e. my 5 and 9 year old sons, Tobias and Noah. And for my inner child who, despite her dislike of crowds, delights at the prospect of finally meeting Cinderella.)
Back to business: If there's one lesson I heard repeated again and again from the powerhouse women we featured on Fierce Feminine Leadership Live, it's this: build your network.
You probably already know this. But what you may not know is that there are three critical types of people every working woman needs in her network. I explain who they are -- and why you need them, in this week's video.
So tell me -- how are YOU planning on stepping up in 2016? My biggest leaps have always been connected to my willingness to invest myself and get personalized support. If you'd like to harness your feminine power this year, leadership coaching is a great way to do that. I'm accepting four new coaching clients for January. To inquire about working with me privately, simply fill out this brief form and someone from my team will get in touch with you to schedule next steps.
Wish me well at DisneyWorld.
