Fierce: showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity
What I do for work: I inspire and support women to have more energy, be healthier and feel beautiful inside and out. I'm a dietitian nutritionist, a certified LEAP therapist and a holistic life coach.
3 words my friends would use to describe me: friendly, helpful, inspirational
My vision of a perfect Saturday: An early morning meditation followed by either a hike with my dog or a horseback ride, then playing in the garden, some light reading, a nap with my kitten, cooking a healthy meal with my family and finally sitting on my deck watching the sun set over the valley.
My top 3 personal or professional WINS from last month: Launched my new website, got chosen as the local "Healthy Living" expert for a dual news station and got invited to cook on "Valley Delicious", a show that features healthy recipes from local fare.
My 2-sentence definition of success: Success is the feeling that you get after you've set forth an intention. That initial spark or thought that came from deep within your core, gains momentum and aligns with your passion, your purpose and the essence of who you are.
The most courageous thing I did in the last year: Last year my father passed away unexpectedly. It was heartbreaking and left me in a tailspin. I was right in the middle of my very first "Vibrant Living" telesummit launch for the purpose of helping women living with chronic physical and emotional pain. I could have either given up or proceed. I feel I was courageous in proceeding through all odds because I had made a commitment not only to myself but to the speakers on the summit and the listeners who the summit would impact.
The advice I would give to my younger self: I would tell myself you can do anything in the world you want and don't let anyone or anything stop you. Stand up for what you believe and always have integrity with who you are. The funny thing is, people could have given me all the advice in the world but until I actually had to face a challenge myself, I wouldn't have listened.
A book that changed my life: A Course in Miracles.
What change are you working to create in your life, community or through your work? I am on a mission to raise women’s energy levels by inspiring them to feel more alive through food, self-care, fun, and community. Femanna is a community that helps women become healthy and get their lives back by maximizing their energy, improving their immune system, having some fun, and making a positive impact on the world.
My 2-sentence definition of leadership: Leadership is the ability to motivate and inspire others to a greater vision. For me, that means inspiring women to love, honor and deeply discover herself so she can join with others to raise the consciousness and make a positive impact on the planet.
The best career advice I ever received: Do what you love to do and get paid for it.
The most important strategies I have used to build my career: Staying healthy and persevering
The most powerful self-care tool: "me time"- time to myself to care for me. This could be anything from sitting in silence to doing something I absolutely love. The key is that I do it consciously and joyfully for me.
Three people, dead or alive, I'd like to join me for lunch: Oprah, Helen Keller and my mom.
